Stale Work Orders

What is a stale work order and how did it get there?

Written by Stacey Breyer

Stale Work Orders have a very specific definition in OpenWrench: 14 days PAST the Work Order Due Date.

So, how is the Due Date determined?

When a Work Order is created, that becomes the Reported Date. The Priority selected determines the Due Date.

For example:

  • Reported Date: October 1

  • Priority: 48 Hours

  • Due Date: October 3

  • Stale Date: October 17 (14 days past the Due Date)

Even if the supplier adds a Scheduled Date, the Work Order will still show as Stale because that status is based strictly on the Due Date, not the Scheduled Date.

How do you remove a Work Order from the Stale bucket?

Simply open the Work Order, click EDIT, and update the Due Date to an appropriate future date. Once updated, the Work Order will no longer be considered Stale.
