OpenWrench Tutorial: Using Views

Overview

The Views feature in OpenWrench allows you to quickly filter and organize your Work Orders based on specific criteria—and save those filters for easy access.

You can also pin your most-used Views as tabs across the top of your Work Orders page for faster navigation.

Step 1: Create a View

  1. Navigate to the Work Orders page

  2. Apply your desired filters

    • Example: Filter by Problem Type = Building Maintenance

  3. Click “Save View”

Step 2: Save Your View

  1. Choose one of the following:

    • Create New View

    • Update Existing View

  2. Enter a name for your View

    • Example: Building Maintenance

  3. Click Save

Step 3: Access Your Saved Views

  1. At the top of the Work Orders page, click “Views”

  2. You will see a list of all your saved Views

Step 4: Edit or Manage Views

  1. Click “Edit” in the top right corner.

  2. From here, you can:

    • ✏️ Rename the View

    • 🗑️ Delete the View

    • ⭐ Set as Default View

    • ↕️ Drag and reorder Views

Step 5: Pin Views as Tabs

  1. Go to Views

  2. Click the 📌 push pin icon next to any View

👉 This will add the View as a tab across the top of your Work Orders page

Step 6: Organize Your Tabs

  • Drag and drop pinned Views to reorder them

  • Only pin the Views you use most often

  • Leave others unpinned (they will still be accessible under Views)

Final Result

Once pinned, your Views will appear as tabs across the top of your Work Orders page, allowing you to:

  • Quickly switch between filtered data

  • Reduce clicks

  • Stay organized by priority, location, or problem type

Pro Tips

  • Create Views for:

    • Specific regions or locations

    • High-priority work orders

    • Specific problem types (HVAC, Plumbing, etc.)

  • Use a Default View to streamline your daily workflow

  • Keep your pinned tabs clean—less clutter = faster navigation
